Finals...again

So begins the last week of the spring quarter. Three finals, one for every class I'm taking. My life drawing final is a self-portrait as a mythological character/ creature. Since it is on a 4x6 ft roll of paper, it has to be at least life size. It will be in the style of an old b-movie poster. Here is a picture of me working on it in the earlier stages.

Muscular and skeletal systems

Hanging out with Frank, and I got to draw his portrait. I also drew an overlay of his muscles. I'm hoping they would look somewhat like this- if he had any.

Continued

Below you will find my final for color theory. This is a continuation on the original 60's spy theme. It didn't come out exactly as I planned. Pressed for time, I only completed three out of the original four. I will eventually add more panels to complete the storyboard. I haven't provided an update in a while and now that spring break is coming to a close, here it is.

Finals..... Still

Still working on finals for all my classes. Here's part one in the series, inspired by a 1960s spy theme. Listen to "The Age of the Understatement", by The Last Shadow Puppets, and see if you get the same results. It's both the title of the album and the name of the first track....enjoy.

tablet PC

I've got a new hp touch smart notebook and I absolutely love it so far. The touch screen captures really well and it is so easy to draw directly on it. I tried it out first by doing a quick sketch of a couch which u can see below. I've also included something I'm working on in color.

Two weeks of classes left, then a week of spring break. Only to start the whole ten weeks over again. So I'm fairly busy getting my final work ready. Sketchbook Friday, enjoy!

Figure Drawing Portfolio

My drawing class required a figure drawing portfolio, which consisted of selected pieces from a life drawing series we completed. These drawings include quick gestures, medium, and longer length poses. Here are some sample photos of my work. Nothing special or completely finished, just renderings in the allowed time that the model posed.

Hey, I've got a blog!

So... Ive been encouraged to start really networking, and being that I don't have a Facebook or Myspace, I thought a blog would be a good way to start. I hope to be an illustrator one day and this may help. I don't expect to receive all my commissions based solely on this site, but I do hope to connect with other artists and maybe receive some valuable feedback. If anything this is a way to keep in touch with my family back home and allow them to see exactly what I am up to. I'm not promising a daily update, but I will try to make posts when I can. Included you will find: some facts about me and what I am up to, as well as sketches, paintings, drawings, photos, and whatever else I maybe able to create. Art and music go hand in hand in my book so, rest assured, that will be included. Thanks to all and here's to hoping I remain inspired.
